What are you lot like!? :roflol:
It must be a part of the "Grand Plan" of someone, but, it wasn't my plan. I'm just old enough now to know when to quit while you're ahead ;) It wasn't the right environment for me. But, I really like how you phrased that, so: I just want to start with something different

@Sheal - I took some photo's on the day we were given keys .... now ... where did I pack the camera charger  :dunno:

@Zigs - ooh, liking that Welsh Red

Now, let me think - what have I achieved in the garden here so far
    • threw out all the sage advice re: waiting a year to see what comes up and got stuck in
    • I have a front garden (approx. 9' x 7') which was so overgrown it was a nightmare: all cleared! Revealing a very tasteful stone trough just begging for the right plants.
    • The rear was very "tired" and over grown and one side has been totally blitzed (aside from one pittosporum, which may still go to the great compost (b)in the sky, and another unidentified shrub (possibly evergreen with teeny white flowers).
    • The side we blitzed has been laid with cardboard (yay for recycling packing boxes!) and all my container plants are weighing it down. These are the plants I've salvaged from the previous address.
Because the garden is only 18ft wide and the fencing being put in is 6' high it does mean that one side of the garden will almost be completely shade - but, I'm not perturbed by that. I see it as an opportunity to delve into shade plantings :heehee:

Still need to invest in a shed (the one here and used as a "selling point" is three sided and ready for the recycling yard) and I already have a clear idea of how I'm going to lay it all out.

Chooks are having a field day attempting to burrow to Australia - as soon as the fencing is up, they will be relocated to their final position. :chicken:

Think I've inherited a "mile a minute" plant ... will have to ponder how to get rid of that :nonofinger:

All in all - life is good

So that's why you were missing for a while......got lost in the undergrowth! :heehee:

I bet the chooks are having a great time with new ground to investigate and it sounds like you've settled well too. 'Life is good......good! :dbgrtmb:

Jenny is always on a mission every time there is something especially 'interesting' happening somewhere in the world. I think she really is a secret agent of some sort.

I resigned from my last job with nothing else lined up, just over a year ago. It turned out to be the best thing I could have done job-wise. When you're in a job that isn't right, its hard to find the job that is right because you daren't take the gamble, but sometimes if you take a leap of faith... I'm pretty sure it will work right for you too. Good luck, but you're a wise person, I have no doubt that luck wont come into it much, you'll figure it out to your advantage.

I know you know what I meant, but reading it back it's not as clear as I intended. For the benefit of everyone else, what I meant was that you are intelligent enough to not have to rely on luck, because we both know that we make our own luck through a combination of logic and intuition, which really is the stuff wisdom is made of.
