Life's a bummer sometimes, but there's always something better round the corner [IMG]

Sorry to hear that NG, like others on here we know what you are going through, we had our previous cat for 20 years and although we have had our present one for 11 we will never forget our first one.

Hi NG. Sorry to hear of your loss. Like others, I know how it hurts. Sometimes though you have to be pragmatic about things. The sad passing of your pet, as painful as it is, represents a tiny part of the time you had. With someone as caring as you to look after her, I'm sure she had a good life. A much better life than an animal with a less caring keeper would have.

I know its easy to get angry at the vets too. They're on the front line after all. Years ago (just over 20 years ago) I had a dog that I'd had since I was a kid. She had a heart attack. I carried my dog to the vets fully expecting them to put her to sleep. They didn't. They worked very hard and gave her another few months. Her quality of life between then and the night she died can't have been great, as she could barely walk, and would have seizures and fall over every day, but it was more time.

I remember thinking after she'd died, what had been the point? 13 years with no legacy. That dog was also my best mate. She came everywhere with me (where dogs were allowed). It took me some time to realise that she did leave a legacy, as I'm sure your cat has left a legacy in your heart. In time you wont think about her final days, you'll think about the whole, the bond you had, and how you enriched each other's life.
