I'm getting rather fed up with having to cart 100 gallons of water to the plot each day.

I only managed about 45 minutes rotorvating baked clay soil this morning until I packed it in.

Each to their own, but no complaints from me on this loveliness!!!
Enjoying making the best of this lovely weather - bike riding first thing in the morning by the river, cuppa first thing in the garden with cool morning dew on my bare feet, went to the beach yesterday and had a paddle and picnic, chilled white wine with friends in the garden last evening, veggies loving it, and got a date with birdsong and Jane Austen in the garden later ... ahhhhh bliss. (More than compensation for my empty butts and brownish patchy grass ;) ).

Love the seasons and this is proper summer weather!

          Don't like it. :th scifD36:

As someone who gardens for a living, I get seriously pi fed up with people who say daft things like "Ooh, aren't you lucky working outside all day in this weather, it must be lovely!" :gaah:

No, it isn't. It's uncomfortable, unpleasant, energy sapping and everything you do just gets you hotter. Nasty little biting or tickling insects plague you all day and get up your nose and in your eyes (or worse).

Oh, and in case you hadn't guessed, the heat makes me cranky too.

as long as I have a variety of cold drinks in the fridge and and a fan next to me all the time I can survive the heat.

And another thing, I've very often got a full sun/wind/weathered tan by May, but now all and sundry (who spend their days working in offices, factories, shops, etc.) will be catching up with me.

I am glad I don't work in glasshouses anymore although after 40 years I got used to it. Temps of 35/40c in summer were not uncommon. I am enjoying the heat with lots of walks/rides/occasional run but I too would like some overnight rain.

I don't like heat but put up with it. Fortunately I have a nice cool house :blue thumb:

People that live up north don't quite get the sticky heat that we do and those by the coast tend to have it cooler or get a slight breeze. But I wouldn't want to live up north or on the coast in the winter :)

Us wrinklies just need to take it easy in this weather :old:. I get my gardening done between 5.30 and 7.30 a.m. and stay in the cool the rest of the time. :coffee:

This weather is glorious .....but.......i don't think i could get used to it long term....in these parts we've maybe had it for a week or so but not as full on as this.....and with my 'turns' you can double it:phew::biggrin: saying that just now there is quite a cool breeze blowing and for all my complaining about the cold weather this feels good:dbgrtmb:

I'm absolutely loving this weather :blue thumb: .
Love getting up in the morning sun shining lifts the spirits, before I go to work potter around the garden.
I work in the soft drinks trade so were rather busy at the moment but can't have it always ;)
Enjoy getting home from work eating my tea outside and having a cold one :ccheers:
We're having another BBQ this weekend that will be 5 weekends on the trot.
The only thing is watering, not moaning though.
Bring on more  for me winter was a long time this year but if it brings this every year :snork:

Oh yes they do Shiney! It's been humid here today even though the temperature was only 21C. I also live on the coast. :)

For those who want a thunderstorm it could be on the way tomorrow in the London area.

I can't remember the last time we had any rain here which is amazing for an island that has high rainfall. It threatened this morning but did no more. I like the sun but not the heat and rain right now would be very welcome. My lawns are turning brown also.

I say bring on the type of heat that phoenix and Dubai have. mid to high 40's would suite me to a tee. just as long as the A/C doesn't pack in lol.
