I'm having nightmares! Imagine waking up and finding that's grown another foot during the night!

Super plant but I doubt if it would do too well up here but if you get any seed I'm willing to give it a go.

    Naughty steve!!
Let me know when it sets seed and I'll take a trip to hardy exotics to see if I can 'liberate' some seeds from there! :D (Hope no-one from there reads this)!
It's an absolute stunner and I soooo want one. It'll be good to threaten the kids with when there being a pain!

frogesque your comment above sound like every lads dream !!!!!!!!!
The seeds appeared either big or in a pod ....i just planted these malteser sized things not knowing what would grow....3 out of 3 grew!!! 2 were put into an unheated greenhouse (in pots)on winter 1 and one was left out in the ground to see if it would cope.....it didnt ! ill keep you posted on seed times and how many it produces. I have 2 ....only 1 has decided to flower this year 1st time. so dont know if any seed produced will germinate??? ITS A DAMN BEAUTY THOUGH....EVEN BEFORE FLOWERING!!

    Steveb,
Any more pics of 'the Monster'? Is it still growing taller? Guess what? Hardy Exotics have got them in, so I'm off to get one on Saturday. Must say though, your photos are much better than the ones on their web-site, which really don't do it justice. Perhaps you should negotiate a contract with them, in return for some free seeds! :D

I dont know how I missed this thread Steve, thats fantastic, and, am I right in thinking its only 3yrs from seed?
I've had a plant of beschorneria yuccoides "quicksilver" for a couple of years and I was told it was hardy, its been struggling outside. Think I might dig it up and bring it in this winter. Is that a second plant behind the one flowering?
Cant wait to see the flowers.

Thats very fast growing Steve, have you been feeding well.
I'm looking at a picture of Beschorneria yuccoides flower and it doesn't look the same as yours, is it possible it could be something else?

They must be pretty common round your way though if they are using them as telephone poles.
