Still no response so later today I will cancel the order. Anyone know the appropriate section of the Consumer Protection Act etc which I can quote when asking them to refund the money?

You should email your credit card company at the same time as the shed company (same email).

State that they have failed to supply you with the goods as per their advertising and that, as they have failed to respond to your email(s) dated ..... you are claiming a refund from the credit card company as per Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.

    Some info here:-
    http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/section-75-of-the-consumer-credit-act/

    EDIT:
P.S. I don't know how much you have actually forked out so here's a bit of info. If you paid more than £100 by credit card you can claim under Section 75. If it was less than that then you can claim under 'Chargeback'.

Section 75 is the law and only covers credit card payments in excess of £100 - even if you paid the balance in any other way.

Chargeback is a voluntary code to which all credit card companies subscribe which only covers payments less than £100 but will also cover debit cards.

Pay for everything with a credit card!

I see numerous examples of customers paying for holidays / goods with a debit card and the company subsequently goes to the wall.

Sometimes worth paying the 2% fee some retailers levy for the added protection it offers the consumer

Cheers folks. Just got back in from Garden Centering. We did pay by Credit Card (Always do) and it is Section 75 which we need to quote.

Rang them up this morning to cancel the order. Full of apologies (why they could not Email I do not know) and Delivery is promised for a week on Friday. Since that is the earliest we could get a shed from a local supplier we decided to see if they are as good as their word.
Still think their customer service stinks and I will still warn folks off the company when we get the shed. I just hope it is as good as all the feed back suggests it is.
    Thanks for the advice.

Well the shed was delivered this morning at the time specified. The pieces look to be good, but we shall see when I get round the putting them together.
I notice that they have changed their advert from '10 days' to 'Speedy' . I wonder why!

I remember when I was a kid, and it seemed every parent in our street had 'the catalogue' (Hayes I think). In those days it was normal to allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery of anything you ordered. Nowadays it is not. The 32 days you waited (if I've read it correctly) is too long. Fair enough if you'd ordered something entirely custom where setup time comes into it, but if it was 'off the shelf' its not good.

A bit more than 20 years ago, in a previous life, I did steel fabrication for my pocket money (not exactly a paid job, but funded training where the funding came from the stuff we made to sell in the company shop). The day would regularly start with the instructor/boss telling about half a dozen of us that had passed the basic parts of our training that today we need to fulfil an order for n hanging baskets, and n wrought iron effect benches etc, and we'd have to manufacture it all by 4PM that day. That was from cutting the steel, shaping it on various jigs or the good old fashion hammer and anvil, welding it all up, cleaning said welds, primer, top coat and on a rail to dry.

Well I have to say the shed is poor standard, poorly put together and badly designed.
Certainly it does not live up to the reviews I read before ordering.
So if anyone is looking for a shed I would suggest they avoid buying from Tiger Sheds.
I have had an Email from them asking me to review the shed. I have not done it as I am not sure they would be too happy with my review.

See the problem there? That, plus the fact that some companies pick and choose which customer reviews to show.

I once bought a car stereo that malfunctioned and nearly set fire to my car. I had a fair old battle with the seller just to get my money back. Despite this I was civil and objective in my review, noting that I'm sure thousands of them were fine but my particular one had an electrical fault that nearly resulted in a car fire. Needless to say my review never made it on their website.

Sorry to hear about the standard of the shed but you really should do a review - and be facrual about the faults. First of all, other people need to know (that's what reviews are about) and secondly, it may help them to improve their product - and it may even get you some response in the way of improvement for yours.

A lot of businesses allow even the bad reviews to be posted and tend to respond to the post with a reply on the the review page. If they don't accept the review (can take a few days) you can then put some pressure on them. It's easily done nowadays.

When I am feeling a lot less ill and depressed (not over the shed) I may well do it.
To be honest I would have returned the shed altogether, but most of the problems were not obvious until it was too late. For example, the gable end at one side had a gap at the top too small for the roof timbers to fit. In the other gable end the gap was too wide so I had to pack it to get the roof pieces to meet at the apex. Neither of these things stood out until we were fitting the roof, the last major construction bit.

Palustris, so sorry to hear about your experience, so many sharps around these days. I bought a shed a while ago and happened to remember that company's name (I didn't buy from them) as the indepedent reviews do not look good if this is the one you refer to:

          http://www.reviewcentre.com/Online-...iger-Sheds-www-tigersheds-com-reviews_1418568

          http://www.cylex-uk.co.uk/company/tiger-sheds-17717398.html

Before buying I generally look at independent review sites (reevoo for example) or google the companyname + reivews.

Hope in any case you get it working right with a bit of ingenuity. Good luck.

          Cheers
