If you've got the money then it's always cheaper to buy a phone upfront and then go Pay as you Go I personally use giffgaff (shameless plug... link in my sig) and they are the cheapest Pay as You Go network in the UK they are similar to Tesco Mobile as they piggyback off of O2 however they are much cheaper.

They've just updated their blog with a comparison of contract prices and buying an Iphone 4S upfront from Apple and using their Pay as You Go network it actually works out at a saving of over £100!

I can save more than that, Aesculus, by not buying one,:heehee::heehee::D I'll stick with the one I've got from the National Museum and that only does what phones were meant to do originally......talk and text.:what::hapfeet::thumbsup:

Just thought I'd point out that if Roders is pining for an Iphone:heehee: that this company are doing older refurbished models with a 60day guarantee at very good rates and on any network

      smartfonestore

at one point they were selling the Iphone 3G for £122 which is a very good price

It sits on the mantle shelf all day and It never rings.

I have a mobile phone with camera facilites which I never use ... I think it cost €30 a couple of years ago. I have it in case I am in an accident or stranded somewhere and need to call for help. I don't even know my own number. :heehee: I can't imagine having a mobile phone for any other reason ....

I had a Motorola, which turned out to be cr@p as a phone. So after much stamping of feet my supplier replaced it with a Nokia. Worse still! Unfortunately they would not replace it as it had "bounced" off of a wall after dropping signal once too often!!!
I rely on my phone for work, so am now using my trusty three year old Nokia PHONE without a hint of trouble again. Only problem is that all the "smart" phone users keep borrowing it as they can't get a signal...........

                    You cheeky b u g g a r You .. you are 4 1/2 yeras OLDER than me .. :loll:... but I still love you ... xx

... but have to agree ... :love30: ... not for the likes of me as I am a technophobe (sort of, when I want to be :heehee: ). I have used my phone twice I think for taking photos as I did not have my cameras with me (shame on me) but I didn't know how to download them to my computer so computer whizz-kid younger t'other had to do that for me, bless ... xx

Following on from what shiney said .. text? I did one text in about 2004 from the IoW to my neighbour here in Portugal .. it took me forever and I found it quite a strain/drain on my brain (yes, I DO have one) so I have never done another since ... :dancy:
