I'll be looking for some help later in the year Pete to divide up the "judging". Although I'm still pretty sprightly for my age, Mrs W likes to wheel me off away from home in my bath-chair during the late summer-autumn months so I may not be at home for some of the rounds.

I'm just hoping I'll still manage the chain-saw when I have to log the carrots :D

Sorry about the late response HB and Sawfish. [IMG]

HB ââ?¬â?? Regarding ââ?¬Å?perfect rosesââ?¬Â, I think it would be extremely difficult to judge such a category. Iââ?¬â?¢m sure ââ?¬Å?professionalââ?¬Â judges have their own objective criteria for judging perfection in flowers, but it would be beyond me. However I appreciate your point that not everyone grows vegetables and if someone feels like taking on organising a ââ?¬Å?perfect flowerââ?¬Â growing competition, Iââ?¬â?¢m sure there would be support for it.

Sawfish ââ?¬â?? I see your point, but the problem with ââ?¬Å?unusualââ?¬Â is that it is impossible to judge using objective criteria. Assessment would have to be a subjective matter. However what we could possibly do is something along the lines of the monthly photo competition and allow all GC members to vote on photos of ââ?¬Å?unusualââ?¬Â vegetables that have been posted on the general competition site during the year. If someone wants to take the judging of this on I'm sure they would be welcomed to do it.

I suppose it could be 'difficult to grow' veg or fruit.
