Idea for a growing competition this year

    i never had any luck with peas, they must be difficult to grow! :D

    So is this comp definatly going ahead??? Im hoping to join in if it is as never entered a veg competion before but will have to work out how this photo thingy works first! [​IMG] :D

    aawwwwwww! I'm not too good at growing veg, but fruit, now i could compete in the total season weight of strawb's. Picked over 500lb last year. but grew twice as many pea plants and only got about 20lb of peas (in their pods of course), but no unusual looking veg. unless you class a fasciated flat courgette.

    Well if last year is anything to go by about the only thing I might have a faint chance with might be sunflowers or maybe marrows if our son forgets (as is his wont) to pick the courgettes when we go off on holiday.

    Unusual veg, I'm having a go at something called Cucumis Metuliferus, otherwise known as the 'Horny Cucumber'.
    Dave will this fit in two categories, unusual veg and the last one on your list. :D

    I was going for the onions, but only realised myself a couple of weeks ago that the comp was up and running.
    Normally I would have sown in early Jan for really big ones, so I will have to do with what I get now.
