Ideas for a walled garden

Would 'Lady of the Lake' be a good rambling rose for the west-facing wall? I observed the wall today and it is shady until 3pm, but gets good sunshine from about 3pm until sunset (so 5-6 hours today). The exception is the northwest corner, which is under the big maple tree.

I'd like a rose that isn't too vigorous, preferably one with some scent, and preferably a pale colour (pale yellow, cream or pale pink).
