Ideas please blank canvass (house down to river)

    its 100 foot from house to river and 30ish foot wide.

    Highest the water has been in 40 years is up to the bottom of the deck area

    Yup, it is about what I thought. It is a nice size: large enough to grow a lot of things, and have some space for a barbecue, but not so big that you can't manage it easily.

    Hi Nelly just caught up with this thread my you have a fair bit of work on your hands athough just imagine your delight enjoying the garden after its all been done wonderful!
    I notice how you like oriental looking plants/flowers have you thought about maybe adding a cherry blossom to your garden? They look really enchanting and very stunning in spring. Hel.xxx.

    I have seen some plants that have spikey looking leaves they are only spikey in shape and not to touch

    I seen a reddish one and a yellowish one not got a sodding clue what their called though

    Ok, since I am full of love and hope I googled "spikey leaves". And lots of things popped up (google for pics). Try it and see if you find ANYTHING resembling your plant, from that we may try working out an identity. ;)

    (once I entered a bookshop and asked for a book ..."I don't remember the author,nor the title,but I know that it had sheep in it and the cover was blue" - not kidding - the shop assistant gave me a pitying look,and said, "yep we love that,it makes our job so much more interesting" :) Love, K)
