Hi, Liz! Hoped you wouldn't answer so soon so deleted what I said as I obviously have not got the grasp of this. In this case, it is strange that we can eliminate other people's avatars but not their signatures! I'll have to bow down and agree with you. [IMG]

Yes, it is odd. Nathan says it isn't in the forum software programming for some reason.

    Liz,

Unfortunately, as said above, it isn't an option, even from my position. It is down to the amount of features on each forums program, this is run on UBB.Classic 6.7.2 , and unfortunately (without hacking the software) it is not within the software, this is not to say, that in the future, when I will be thinking of changing the software completely, the new software wont have that feature.

As mentioned elsewhere, other software can often feature 'buddy lists', again, this software doesn't support that either.

For now, we are all stuck with this software ..... Sorry.

    Nathan.

This software, whilst perhaps basic is far less offensive than the newer forum software which will light your screen up with all manner of flashing features.

Other forums have adverts, offers and functionality flashing at various speeds and intervals which would cause far more offence im sure than the signature lines. I have seen forums upgrade before and it has not been for the better.

The layout of this site is really good, very easy to read and follow even for the basic user. I think upgrading in the future may be necessary but this site has a certain integrety that comes with a basic package that is lost in other newer forums.

I think as long as we don't be silly with the size of pictures in a tag line we should be grateful for all the positives this site has and learn to accept the variety of people who wish to express themselves in a signature.

Nathan, I wasn't criticising, like everyone else I really like this forum and appreciate your work on it. It just seemed strange that the programmers provided the ignore facility for avatars but not signatures!
BTW what happened in the end about the adverts at the top?
