So suitable as a salad vegetable, rather than a pudding [like Melon would be]?

I put Tomato Fertiliser on both my Cucumbers and Melons so ... I guess so!

I think it is savoury Kristen.. They appear to hail from Mexico.. I was thinking salsa, Mediterranean salads.. Good in a Martini instead of a Gherkin I am told.....

I grew these last year. Extremely easy and very fast growing. I grew mine in quite a shady spot outdoors and they roomed away nicely. As for the taste, I wasn't too keen. They can be eaten at any stage if development, and the younger cucumbers are best. The larger you let them get, the more bitter they become.

I looked for the tuber at the end of the year, but sadly could find one on any if my plants.

I need to get mine sown then, if they take that long! Won't be long until I am sowing the cucumbers too.

FC ,according to all the info on Cucamelon , the first half of April is about the right sowing time. So plenty of time :blue thumb:

Sowed mine earlier in the week as I had a space in the propagator, germinated already, I only sowed half the packet in case of failure.

Sort of thing where I'd only try one plant the first year, I'm not that overly fond of melons and not keen on cucumber.
Anyone remember the horny cucumber,(kiwano) sounds similar taste wise.
