I couldn't agree more Val, Its just the worst thing because they can't tell you what's wrong, a bit of me wants to keep her in but I know she's better off in the flock.
I'm a bit of a worrier too particularly where my animals are concerned, which doesn't really help! :rolleyespink:. Thanks for your reply :grphg:

Yep, another worrier here, I think all us animal lovers are the same, as soon as they start acting out of character you just know that something is wrong. Shall be thinking of you today.

Oh Beckie, you poor thing, what a worry. But it's very obvious that you are taking the best care of her,Moshe has a great mummy in you. Sending healing vibes her way and a big hug for you, please let us know how she gets on, I hope now the lash thing (I've never heard of that!) is out of the way, she will make some progress x x x

She laid another small lash before I left, I'm hoping & praying the antibiotic is helping to get this nasty stuff out of her little body & kill off any infection that maybe there. I just wish now she would eat some food, she's barely passing any poop just the lash & bright yellow yolky water. She's drinking so that's a good thing.
LyndaG the lash is horrid it looks like cooked chicken, I had this problem with another hen, I took it to the vets & they identified it straight away, I'd not heard of it until I got my hens either, they are such dear creatures but their insides are so complex. Thanks for your kindness & I shall update again later on xx :grphg:

I've just been home to check on B she's a bit fluffed up, which is a bad sign but she has a bit of food in her crop so that's good, she had a drink & pecked at a few dried mealworms. Her tummy doesn't feel so swollen & isn't as warm as it was yesterday. She will of course have her anti-B's tonight when I get back. I think I'm going to let her sleep in the coop tonight with the others, I don't like them being separated for too long because it can upset the pecking order, :chicken::chicken::chicken::chicken:

You are doing everything you possibly can, I hope so much that she pulls through this for you. Birds can be so very fragile when they are unwell. :fingers crossed: :fingers crossed: :fingers crossed: :grphg:

Tonight she was very perky! There was a lot of chatting coming from B!! Her comb is still red, her tummy is still warm, she had a bit of food in her crop but on the whole I'd say she's definately improving. Shes on the perch asleep now, I just have to hope the anti-B's work over night & we see further improvement tomorrow.....fingers crossed :fingers crossed: Thanks so much for all your messages :grphg:

 We are still making progress, she's eating, drinking & talking more today! Her poop still isn't right it's green! But that's more to do with her not eating enough than anything else I hope :fingers crossed:. She's had her anti-B's this morning, she's as good as gold when I inject her bless her. I hope today she will eat a bit more. Her tummy is still quite warm so I'm guessing there's still something not quite right in her tummy, perhaps she has more lashes to get rid of. :fingers crossed:
