Has Gardeners World returned to a friday, was last fiday the first of a new series ?

 

Yeah its on Fridays but that wasn't the first its been on a while Think it started the beginning of Sept as they had special progs in August

 

I just noticed,when you Google Alys Fowler....(I know ,I know) on the second page is this thread............Is this significant?...............

I've finished with her book for the moment, so here's my thoughts about it.

It is a beautiful book - philosphy, practical advice, and inspiration in roughly equal measures.

The text is well written and balanced with a good amount of pictures - but not so many it gets the balance wrong.

There are practical sections on plants and how to build a wormery (for example). I wouldn't say the information is complete by any stretch - but I don't think it's meant to be. It;s meant to approach things from a thrifty point of view.

It is more of a present for the gardener in your life than a serious gardening manual.

I've started reading it and I think it's great. I've learnt loads so far. I think for a beginner on a tight budget its ideal. I think Brian has nailed it on the head

It was advertised in the local English paper last week. General good review ..... for beginners ....
