They are all so darling! I know of Numbats ... I watch a lot of wildlife programmes and they are from Australia.

Well done on your Christmas Fayre sales for charity.

I have to sigh at your brilliance Sian. So talented indeed. They look like black and white photographs.

Alternative Inctober prompt 26 - owl.
A snowy owl... Looking much more anxious than the beautiful reference photo of JJ Guy Longtin suggests.

I think he has picked up on the stress and sadness I felt when drawing him, as I care for my mother with worsening dementia. I was struck by how from a distance the curves of the brown feather-tips look tidy and even. As you look closer, you can see that each curve is a little ragged, uneven. It’s like life - from a distance, most of us seem to be in control and coping well. But if you look closely, our lives are not perfect. They are messy, untidy - sometimes stunningly beautiful, but with darker, ruffled, sometimes painful areas. At this time of Advent, leading up to Christmas, with all of its hopes and expectations, let us remember that we are all individuals. Some of us are walking difficult paths. As we get caught up in the bustle, let’s help each other. A smile, a kind word, a helping hand to reach something from a shelf... it can be like a ray of sunshine in a dark forest, giving a promise of good times ahead.

@Sian in Belgium Beautiful post and drawings Sian (wow, they just seem to get better and better, that wolf is just amazing!). Your words brought me to tears. Life can be incredibly challenging at times but I take comfort in the fact that those challenges can often make us kinder and more emotionally robust people. Thanks for sharing both your sensitive thoughts and your art. :)
