That's nice Chopper. I know quite a few couples who met online on other than dating sites and have been happily married for some years now. I am too long in the tooth now for dating. Besides with my eldest son come home to roost it kind of cramps one style. :loll:

Mrs Chopper is definately one of a kind, thats why I am hanging onto her!

Funny the places people meet isn't it? I met my second wife in the middle of a huge punch up. I was stood in a big bikers pub when the fight started. It was nothing to do with me, I was minding my own business and I was just watching what was happening when some idiot threw a bottle at me. Bounced off my head and smashed against the wall. I went for the guy and all of a sudden the pub was swarming with cops. While I was fighting with the guy that threw the bottle, someone got his arm round my neck and was trying to choke me. I managed to get him off and was fighting with him as well, when someone jumped on my back and I landed on the floor with this person on top of me. Didn't know it was a police woman until I went to take a swing. I stopped mid swing and she kept me pinned down and got the cuffs on me, before marching me out to the police van outside covered in someone elses blood.

Couldn't believe what was going on. I didn't start the fight, I was attacked with a bottle and it was ME getting arrested. More than a tad annoyed I can tell you. They let me go early hours of the morning and I got a visit from the police next day. It was the woman PC that had arrested me! I then found out that the guy that had tried to choke me was the soon to be ex husband of the woman PC. He was also a police sergeant. She was secretly rather pleased that I had landed a couple on him before she arrested me.

When she knocked on my door, I couldn't help thinking that she was a bit of a looker. One thing led to another and we got together. As I was a club member at the time she was told that she either had to stop seeing me or leave the force! Her Chief Constable said that "I was a member of a well known organisation of ill repute"!! Nearly wet myself laughing when I read that. Talk about tarring everyone with the same brush.

I was with her for nearly nine years, we just grew apart.

    Chopper.

A friend of ours went to a web dating agency at the age of 72. After two not very interesting matches she said she would give it one more try and found someone :dbgrtmb:. They have been living happily together for five years now. :)

A winter project several years ago ... which then filled the follow Summer too!

But unlike your much more impressive projects there was no fabrication involved, just a question of scouring the country for the appropriate bits and bolting the (often ill fitting!) parts together.

I'm quite pleased with the cockpit though ... most people who build this type of thing stick a piece of foam squab inside for the "seat". I think mine looks quite presentable :)

Chopper; it's great to hear that internet dating works  and loved the story about how you met your second wife.

Moyra; don't give up yet - give Steve his marching orders :dbgrtmb:

Kristen; 0-60 in 3-4 seconds :rolleyespink: yoiks that is quick for a car :) I like the cockpit and seats, all the caterhams I've seen have no thought for comfort or aesthetics :dbgrtmb:

Car or bike makes no difference. The way I look at it, does the car/bike look how you want it to look? Does it do what you want it to do? If the answers are yes then you have achieved something that is personal to you. If other people do not like what you have done, they do not have to look at it. Most negative comments I hear about custom built bikes, trikes and cars are from people that do not have the balls or brains to have a go themselves.

I think the interior of your car looks rather well finished. A neat job. The best after market, custom or kit parts rarely fit as they are supposed to do. There is always some fettling to do. Don't put your efforts down mate. I would be very happy to own a finished car like yours. I just happento concentrate on bikes and trikes now. I have built a few American muscle cars in the past. I will start another thread about custom cars and bikes. (We have drifted quite a long way off internet dating).
