    Isn't that because orchid seed doesn't contain a food store in the form of an endosperm? I think someone explained it to me that orchid seed is more like fern spores in that there tiny and are wind dispersed:scratch:

    and that each seed capsule can contain millions of seeds and that very few actually come into contact with the right fungus to be able to germinate...

    sounds interesting will have to do some investigation:luv:

    Think thats about right Conkers, didn't do orchid germination, thats just something i'd heard of along the way.

    Orchid seeds are tiny, first vanilla pod i bought, I thought it was full of tiny insects, i was exxpecting bigger seed than that:dh:
