Thanks Kevin - can you remember which one it is you bought please? I had a feeling that the soaker hose would struggle to provide enough water.

You might be surprised at how much water seeps out of a soaker hose in 24hrs. When I come home from a holiday my patio can be flooded and plant pots are soaked as it's a constant seeping of water. In your border you can coil it around larger plants to increase the water supply in that area.

@Fat Controller you can also get other spacing dripline e.g. 15cm, 30cm, 50cm. I don't use soakhose for much, but had the opposite problem with it i.e. too much water. To control this a put an inline tap between it and the feed line. I employ the same with my drip line to increase or lower the flow. No mater what you do flowrate is often a problem with time of day, too much on the system etc. However for most days it is fine and certainly covers absence. I have 3 separate timers for multiple systems which can be set at different times to balance pressure out.

@LeadFarmer reminded me I too use 4mm soak coiled in a couple of wine barrels we have. I've also some in a circle on a couple of large pots (you can get "T" connectors for the circle).
