Is it necessary to disinfect pots before reusing them?

    I see your point.
However, at the moment, for some reason no doubt unrelated to my gardening skills, the life of the plants in my care tends to be unusually short :D

Well, I scrubbed the first batch of pots with a bit of washing up liquid and lots of elbow grease.
Then I went for the cheapskate route, and had them soak in a solution of scalding water and stong vinegar, before rinsing them clean.

They look like new and I have decided that if any pest managed to survive that, it probably deserves to conquer my garden, and perhaps in time the world.

Thanks everybody for all the advice :)
