Is my tree dead?

    Thanks sal, whats the best food to feed it any suggestions? i will cut it over the weekend, as im working all week now. As you can see from the pic below the bark is falling off, the trunk is pretty much finished...

    Harry, if its looking dead I'd cut the stem off at ground level.

    Shoots coming from the base indicate the main stem is dead.

    My two large ones are totally dead stem wise, but I will be cutting out some of the new shoots this spring to allow all the growth to go to the ones I leave.

      thanks for the advice pete.

      i have about 2 shoots growing from the bottem, can i take one out and plant it somewhere else?

      You could try rooting one Harry when it reaches a decent size, about 18 inches or so.
      I've tried rooting cordylines, the smaller ones are easier, but I've never found them all that easy to root.
      Pretty sure you would need to pot up and root, rather than just plant somewhere else in the garden.
