I don't believe in Gods in any races language. I have family and friends who do.

I am quite content for them to believe what they do and quite content in my belief. End of.:thumb:

You may not realise it Tweaks, but in itself, your words are poetry.

yes you are right , the bible does not teach about
THE IMMORTALITY OF THE HUMAN SOUL that teaching is a manmade teaching and many have been misled by that manmade teaching .

Jesus said in matthew 5;5 the mildtempered will inherit the EARTH.:gnthb:

    Religion scares me.
    I don't understand it.
The passion it brings out in some people ,I find is very frightening.
I think everyone should be able and allowed to believe in what they want.
    In a peaceful way.

Well I worship the being who created God - he obviously the main man, :D

Seriously I think religeon is very little to do with God. Its all about man having power over man.

I personally count myself as Agnostic although normally I couldn't give two hoots about religion I say normally as I have a strong disdain of people who try and flog me there religion at the door although that's going off in into a different subject :)

Being a logical and straight forward person I view all religions as at best quaint and at worst deluded. No time for any of them nor those who try and push them.

I agree with you Paul. Logically, religeous belief is nearly always just a belief in whatever you have been told before the age of say 10. Have you ever wondered why Christian parents invariably have Christian children, and Moslem parents have moslem children etc. There are no absolutes; its just that the things that we are taught at an early age tend to stay with us all our lives. Violent parents usually have violent children, kind parents usually have kind children, and Hindu parents have Hindu children.

I am suspicious of anyone with strong and irrational beliefs. Some hospitals in Israel are obliged to have double wiring. One switch for use through the week, and one for use on the sabbath. And there are others who say you mustn't have blood transfusions, even to say a child's life. When people are irrational about these known aspects, my fear is what other unknown aspects are they also irrational about.

But what I can't understand is that when people of faith end up in court, they invariably want the jury to be objective and examine all the evidance. Very few people say I want to be tried by people with preformed ideas who will not be swayed by the evidence.

Humans have always wanted something more than the life they are living now. The thought of this being it, the one and only is too scary to contemplate for the majority of us.

How many people now and throughout history have suddenly found faith when the end if near?
