is religion wrong

Something that happened many moons ago:

I think I was only 17 or so and we had just moved to a brand new house in Sidcup. We were forever being bothered by door-knockers trying to make us convert to their religion. My brother had said to me that if you get the Jehovas Witnesses at the door tell them you are a scientologist or Mormon or some such other name to get rid of them and I had said...sure, I'll do that.

One Sunday afternoon, there was a knock on the door and I answered it.
There stood two people who introduced themselves as Jehovas Witnesses and asked me if I'd be interested in more discussion about this subject.
I remembered my brother's words and quickly told them.....''No thank you, you see....we are Martians and very happy in our choice of religion.''

I could hear muffled laughter in the house and it was only after I shut the door on the very surprised looking people at our door and found my brothers rolling on the lounge floor that I realizes what I had said.

We still like to tell people we are Martians. It works a treat.:hehe:

I try to keep away from religious discussions.
If asked out right what I believe in .
I say.
The experience of life and the nature all around us.
I'm a realist.
If I can't see it , it's not there.
Then make a hasty retreat.:hehe:
I won't argue about it.
There's no point.

An old friend of mine once invited the Jehovahs Witnesses in for a god chat and ended up proving their beliefs as questionable - to the extent that they had to go away and bring back one of the elders who knew more than they did!:lollol:

My old aunt, now sadly departed this world could be a bit eccentric at times and would also invite them in for a chat, especially if she was bored and alone at home. She could talk for Ireland and probably had them running for the hills:D

And she is going to go down in a big way , and it is Gods purpose for that to happen ."

mary was a Jew ,and she later became part of the christian congegation.


she went in the right direction at that time, and did not go along with the religious leaders of her time, the religious leaders of her time had Jesus put to death .

but she was with the followers in the newly established christiian congregations.

There are so many religions in the world and I think if you are happy with the one you have Hallelujah :thmb:

 

This makes interesting reading,and I would never join a religious group that refuses to celebrate the birth of Jesus.....
