...spreads diseases. Am I allowed to know it if I'm a lot older than 60 - as I don't know your definition of +? :heehee:

I don't watch any of that pap! (pap used in the old meaning and not the new :))

    Coughs and sneezes spread diseases?

Funnily enough, its not the programs that are fairly clear about their subject matter (although the quantity of them is irksome), but it is more the likes of BBC Breakfast where every couple of days they are trotting out yet another session of "thou shalt not" and pretending it is news. Its also how far things get taken - smoking for example, I sort of get that one - beside the detriment to the smokers own health, it was also affecting other people (be that health, or simply coming home from the pub smelling of smoke); but sugar??? Really??? It just smacks of trying to control our lives to the nth degree to me.

I agree with you about the public information films though - they were at least not trying to hide their agenda.

Yes, our history it seems is offensive!!!! :wallbanging: I remember my Dad taking us to see the Black & White Minstrel show at the West End it was brilliant!!! If somebody discovers an old golliwog in their attic presumably they are not allowed to pass it on to their grandchild? :gaah: one actually wonders what would happen if you did????

I remember it being on the news back in the 1990s when PC really started to go mad. It was said that maritime sorts were no longer allowed to shout 'Man overboard' if someone fell off the boat. I can totally understand that. If I were a woman and I fell off a ship into the North Atlantic in the middle of the night in the middle of a storm, I'd be quite upset if someone shouted 'man overboard'.
