As you know, Freddy, Admin try keep a light rein and rarely comment in any thread, other than in a member's capacity, so that we too can join in and enjoy the threads and posts. However, in this case a post was reported by a member and therefore there was the beginnings of a loss of integrity in the thread.
It is difficult for GC Admin to comment on such an emotive, divisive subject and it is only when we believe there is a danger of offence that we will do so. Hopefully, when we do so it's in a manner that is neutral, unoffensive, and doesn't interfere with the original intention of the Thread, or give the impression of censorship and loss of freedom of speech

But we still must take care not to give offence because we are a gardening forum and not a political forum. Admin do a very good job and I thank them

Talking of history:-
The quote, above, from Neimoller is interesting because he was someone who changed his point of view completely. He was an evangelical Lutheran Protestant Pastor that was a Nationalistic antisemitic German that supported Hitler's rise to power but was opposed to the Nazi Party! He was put in Dachau concentration camp for the duration of the war.

After the war he was one of the signatories of the Stuttgart Declaration of Guilt and wrote that quote - which was a reflection on what had happened to him. He became an ardent pacifist and anti-nuclear campaigner.
