    We have them and they grow and spread easily. Ours much prefer shady areas. We like them and Mrs Shiney uses them a lot in flower arranging.

      We also have a couple and they are in the darkest areas of the garden. I guess they were bird sown because they are in the tiny gap between the shed and fence (about a foot wide), on a north facing aspect. If they can live there, seemingly happy, I think they could probably survive anything you throw at them.
