        Have you got room for a couple of little christmas trees Aln.....then every year they can decorate them and watch them grow:dancy:...

            We did that when my daughter was 6 but it was taller than her by the time she was 10 and I had it chopped down when it was so huge it was threatening the house!

            If you're going for the Christmas tree make sure you buy a slow growing, dwarf or medium growth evergreen - not the traditional Norway Spruce (I could have donated mine to Trafalgar Square).

            Alternatively what about something that flowers round about their respective birthdays?
