Their email is a bit of a brush off - it look slike a stock answer so I guess they have a few of these complaints. Their product should not do that. The only issue might be the really heavy frosts we had recently - maybe when you applied the Verdone it was frosty or became frosty overnight?

Well you know how much you put on (one bottle / two bottles / half a bottle ... ??) and the area is easy to see/measure, so that should enable calculating the dose and making sure it wasn't excessive. Plus you used "Ready To Use" so its hard to see how you could overdose the lawn - unless you flooded it, but that would cost a fortune with ready-mixed bottles!

They say "Providing that the area is kept moist, the yellowing described should soon grow out." so I'd keep it moist (presumably no problem yet this season? ;) ) and then see what happens and what they then have to say ...

Seeding it is going to take a while before it looks nice, so if its really dead then replacing with turf is going to be needed to have a lawn this year.

Interesting, Ive seen similar die back when a customer made a second treatment to weeds treated a week before, id say either you overdosed or perhaps the grass was under stress, had you cut it soon beforehand.

Being a contractor I don't use verdone but use a couple of different trade selectives, the first is Relay turf and is similar in composition to verdone the second spearhead, is a more advanced formulation and has a residual effect.

With relay I will spray the same day as mowing, this Ive done many times without issue although not a practice id suggest, with spearhead I stick to four days clear of cutting either side of treatment.

What sort of application rate did you use? id expect around 100ml to 10 liters of water or thereabouts did you spray or water it on?

"id expect around 100ml to 10 liters of water"

Pro : I think it was pre-mixed - so don't think the dose can be the issue (unless manufacturing error)

Good point about not mowing for 3 or 4 days before and after application

It was mowed 3 days before cause I had to wait to use it and all I did was give one squirt of the spray in each section. The frosts had gone by then too.

I can't see that you have done anything wrong. Is there any more left in the bottle? Might be helpful if you think that the strength is wrong ...

Spray a bit more on a patch of grass that is not important and see what happens? If that gets killed too I'd definitely suggest sending the rest back for testing.

Then I'm well and truly stumped. We await the outcome of your test patch.

I haven't done the test patch yet as I thought as I had to repair a large patch I might as well dig up the tree stump:

looks like a pretty big job done well and you must be dead pleased at having got it done

I was looking for the kitchen sink as you appear to have thrown everything else against it!
