Ivy pruning

    I bought a blue grass last year i cant remember its name it could be the same grass, its looking a bit worse for ware atm.

      @martin-f There's different names for them but come autumn your to remove the dead flowers which are the barley head and comb them through with your fingers or a wide comb to remove any deadness underneath...which ours have been done besides being trimmed all round...save your plant mate :snorky:...we got ours for £10 each reduced from £20 each in a sale.

        Thank you Gail as you can see theirs no seeds on mine, i will give the dead bits a trim with the scissors later on in the year, it is the same as yours ive just checked my reference.

          They just need trimming mate and the crap removing...it says that every 3-5yrs according to how they grow quickly you have to remove them from the spot, split them in half by the roots as it helps generate them and replant :)

            Thank you Gail its only a small plant atm it might flower this year, i removed a bit of dead grass last year i will do the same this year many thanks.

                    You absolutely CAN get the hedge trimmers to the ivy. I've been doing it for years and all the ivy looks as healthy as ever. It saves so much time.
