Be cautious about making a special journey as from what JWK says it appears not all stores have reduced it yet.

      Thanks for the heads up
Going to call in on way home from work, as it is just a 3 mile detour then
      Here's hoping

Only problem now is how heavy is 50lts of compost, as they would need to go in my car, I would be safe for SIX Hundredweight about 1/3 tonne
Though how many bags is that ?

I guess that 6 cwt would be 12 of these 50 litre bags, I could be way out though. I was aiming to get 6 to 8 bags in my mini.

I checked the Homebase at Bracknell on the way home from work, and they still haven't stuck the sales stickers yet.

I had 14 x 50 litre bags from Homebase + 2 x 25 litre bags of seed compo & a bag of reduced sand (50p) from B&Q + the shopping + Mrs Scrungee in my car on my first trip!

The bags I bought (got 32 now) were both stickered as discontinued and I also confirmed they were discontinued (it's only the spud compo discontinued, not the likes of J.O. growbags). If they're not sitckered in store yet you can always monitor stock in local stores using the online checker for when they suddenly start shifting as an indicator.

I pass Homebase a few times a week and have been watching their stack of fading JO potato compost bags since October last year, "like a cat watching a mouse" according to my wife, because previous experience made me certain they would be reduced to clear at some stage and I wanted to be there when it happened.

P.S. This stuff was originally £3.99/bag or 3 for £10.

P.P.S. I can't discount the possibility that someone at the store where I've bought all mine from has gone 'over the top' with their reductions. I was fortunate enough to be at a B&Q when a member of staff in charge of the outdoor gardening area decided (possibly unilaterally) to reduce virtually all the plants down to 10p - 15p, so filled my car up whilst other shoppers were phoning for assistance in getting all their purchases home. Didn't see the guy doing the reducing for some time after that, and when he returned to work was never again out in the gardening area.

£34 a tonne is very cheap, is that delivered in a Builders Bag or tipped on the road? (if tipped maybe you need to think how close you can get it tipped to your new raised bed , you'd thought of that anyway)

Your local Homebase stores/managers/procedures appear to be absolutely useless. If you click on the link in my post #7 on this thread above, you'll see that the maximum charge for this product is only £2.99 per bag (not the £3.99 your local stores are trying to charge you), and that's without any subsequent, unimplemented reductions for it being a discontinued product. But as manager(s) of your local Homebase stores appear to be trying to overcharge you, I suggest you complain.
