Ashamed to admit an 83 year old did almost half of my work load for me

Desperate times, I was told 09:15 for 09:30 delivery
I got there at 09:00 and opened all the gates, waited a while and it was freezing so went and sat in the car, 10:30 no show, I was now stuck, I could not lock up and leave incase the tractor turned up, also I did not have any contact number for the farm, How long should I hang about ?
I thought I might be here till night time and no show
Anyway he turned up at 11:00 tipped the trailer and sped off as he had another three loads to bring
I admit I had no idea of what three tons of cow dung would look like, I thought a trailer load was like the trailers that people go to the recycle tip with err no ! it was a farm trailer, and my imagined three cubic meters was well off, it was TEN :-)

Tea from a flask tastes horrible will just take hot water and teabags milk and sugar next time along with a half bottle of Rum

Good job Jack. You'll be amazed at how the manure will "disappear" in a short period of time but the benefit to your soil won't. !t never fails to amaze me that I lump vast quantities of horse manure onto my flower beds only for it to vanish within months. I put a good 8 inches thick onto a bed last winter (needed to reduce the manure heep!)and planted Leeks in it this Spring without any other fertilizer, result........ very large Leeks.

That's very kind of you to say such nice things about me @Jack McHammocklashing. I'm not at all sure they are justified as I can be a right old cow when I put my mind to it! It was a pleasure to meet up and glad I could find a home for some of the packets of seeds I was given. I have actually found some more I had forgotten I had:thud:.
From a quick "wade though" the box of seeds there is Onion both Spring and normal, Shallots, Brussel Sprouts, Carrots, Radish, Chilli, Swede, Lettuce. Cress, the list is quite long:yikes:. There's other seed too but loosing the will to live listing everything!:)
If any of the above is of use to you/your allotmenteers either phone (probably best as I can then tell you what else there is) or PM me. Easy the next time I'm in Glenrothes or you are near me to get the packets to you.
Off to polish my halo.......only snag is, unsurprisingly I don't have 1!

Now just a cotton pickin minute @ARMANDII, I'll admit to many failings both physical and mental but I don't have cross eyes!:).......Why do I have this feeling of impending doom that you are going to find some equally or worse clipart which is appropriate? You have an amazing ability to find a great bit of art/photo to fit the subject matter:love30:. I have enough trouble just uploading my own photos!
