We dont yet know its Japanese Knot weed.
    We need a picture.
Most of the problems with it are overrated, it usually becomes a real problem when the diggers move in to a building site and spread it all over the place.

If the property is rented then apart from the inconvenience, its not really your problem.

I agree with Pete. I suppose the only bright side is you know where it is and can make attempts to control your plot. It looks like a veg plot next to it with some healthy looking plants. What's the plan for the rest of your plot

It is a veg plot. The veg plot sits along the edge of my neighbours garden. The one infested with knotweed. I've already planted a lot of stuff in there. And since my garden is pretty tiny especially in width it's the only place to put the veg plot. I'm not sure what to do now to keep it from popping up in my beds. That one in my garden certainly must be killed.

Yes just realised that the tangle of dead branches at the back of their garden are hollow. Most likely knotweed. Argh.

The main thing is not to dig too close and learn to recognise the roots.
If you break the roots off you will spread it.

So it's the killing fields for you. Knotweed will come through Tarmac, concrete and every other ground known to man. Don't despair too much as your Veg looks great. Some things will always try us for sure.
