    It will pay off @Mowerman - because you will make it pay off. You clearly already know your stuff, and you have the right approach in wanting to do things properly, doing the best for your customers but also doing the best for the environment.

    You'll go far - just don't forget about your GC friends when you are rich and famous :biggrin:

        I may be offline for a while, have had to move abode to a temporary location (going today) and the wireless connection there is somewhat questionable for the time being. Hopefully it will work!

        This street has been driving me mad for the last year. Two housholds ruin a formerly nice street for everybody - and an altercation with a mentally disturbed pshyco wielding a baseball bat at me a couple of days ago over an incredibly trivial matter was the final nail in the coffin.

                Thanks for the nice comments guys, much appreciated. It's been a nightmare getting online but finally managed it using a dongle that eats credit like a thirsty tramp drinks a bottle of sherry.

                      Matny thanks mate for the info, will check it out as its infinitely cheaper than the current rig.

                      Been using an EE dongle as it has good coverage in this part of the sticks, way out of town. Vodafone was a write off.

                      Will see if your kind and much appreciated suggestion will get a signal. Thanks again!

                      Hi @Mowerman, I recently had my own battle with the dreaded JK so have followed your story eagerly. How is it looking at the moment? I am afraid I was less patient than you and had to bring in the professionals. I am based in Brighton and used a company called Phlorum who specialise in Japanese knotweed removal. (In case anyone is in need of similar services, this is them - Japanese Knotweed Removal, Eradication & Control Specialists) It is still an ongoing process but I was impressed with their expertise. You seem to have a passion and knack for this, and as you have mentioned, councils seem to be less concerned than they should be. Are you still keen to pursue it as a career? Keeping my fingers crossed that my own bouquet of JK does not rear its ugly head again in spring. But alas, only time will tell.

                        @JeffNev

                        Sorry to hear of your JK woes and glad you called in someone to keep it under control. Not cheap though, some of these companies charge obscene amounts, especially if excavation is deemed their most appropriate solution, which many people advise against.

                        Unless you're really lucky, expect some red tips emerging out of the ground around April time, which will look like asparagus after a few days. Then a few weeks later, a magnificent sward of vertical greenery that the Victorians so much admired. Damn fools :)

                        Many thanks for the compliments. Am trying to save up for courses in the spring but it's been a tough winter thanks to the van spitting its dummy out at every possible opportunity. Has cost a blooming fortune. All the courses will be completed ASAP but will test the waters before selling off the gardening business though.
