Jatropha multifida

Sad news ... the pot got knocked over and Spod2 has vanished! J swept up the soil that fell out and said nothing was there. I poked around the soil and found three ungerminated seeds and pushed them back into the soil. Pod1 appears okay.

 

That's sad @Victoria, it must be there somewhere ...

 

Well, J said he swept up the compost and put it back in the pot without looking! I then poked around up to my knuckles which join my hand and only found the three ungerminated seeds. It fell on a sloped terracotta path so last night I asked him to go look by pots, under the bench, etc, but he said nothing was there. If I could, I would go check myself, but it is difficult for me ...

 

I think it was living on borrowed time.
Concentrate on getting the others to germinate.

 

Spod (Seed Pod) 1 survived, it is Spod2 that is MIA.

Almost two weeks on we have Spod1 and a surprising Spod3 which quickly sprouted on the 9th and lost its pod ...





I know I must get Spod3 out of there and am seeking a pot for him.

The Spods are getting stronger every day, both with new growth ...

 

That's a nice plant.

 

I thought it was different and delicate looking. I am hoping to get flowers this year. Actually, they are only four months old!

 

I just ordered a couple of seeds.

Okay, so let's see how quick you can germinate. I did nick and soak but had to germinate outside. I will be watching this space.
