Because it's was the best one I could afford that would fit in my pocket so it's always with me (unlike my Canon Powershot G9). I used to have several film SLRs, and a great box of lenses, but found the more stuff I got, the less pictures I took because it was so much trouble to cart around.

      Gotta tell you a stroy...
Last night I went to bed( 11.30pm) set alarm for 12.55am. Why? Cos I wanted to buy an ebay 2nd hand Lumix FZ45 at a starting price of £129( had a bag of gizmoes with it) -along came one other bid higher than mine so I went up to £146.
Woke up at 12.54,went down stairs and found I had miscalculated finish time. Now = 01.27am. So, stooged around and wondered what on earth I was doing all this for at this time of night. At 01.26 + 30seconds I put in a bid of £148 and out of nowhere this PC went manic with other bidders' activities. It was all over in a flash and I had been outbid. Switch off and go back to bed.
Blow that for a game of soldiers. I have just placed an order with Pixmania and vowed I wouldn't do an e bay bid out ever again. Life's too short,

I hope you used the code PIXPROMO5 at the checkout to get £5 off your order (valid to end of month).

Now you tell me Scrungee!! I tried 2 codes with the website but one had expired the day before and the other was only for a purchase in excess of £300 - I was about £4 short.
Re: the outbid bit on ebay. Someone today mentioned a site called "Stealthauction". Again, this was someone who buys and sells stuff. Anyone heard of it?

There's reviews of some bidding software here -
              http://www.newlifeauctions.com/snipe.html
can't comment on how well any work as I've never used any, though it looks like most involve some form of fee.
If I'm bidding I never place any bid until the final 10 seconds and then only bid what I really want to pay. Sometimes I get the item cheaper than my maximum bid and now and then I get outbid but I don't end up in a bidding war and paying more than I really ought to.

When I'm selling I always set auctions to run for the maximum time and to end on a Friday or Saturday evening which is when the maximum number of potential bidders are free to bid.

                Hi Jenny,

Take a look at the link below for the nikon L120. we have just had 2 at work and they really are a great camera and they are half price as they have been super seeded by the next model £129. we got ours from Argos but they may be cheaper some where else.

Thanks for the info Rusty; sounded like a good deal. Have bought a Lumix now but the features on the Nikon look very good too.
Just need some sun and warmth to tempt me outside ....

No worries we only had them last week so I hadn't used it to give an opinion. I'm thinking of getting one myself though, the zoom is much better than the cannon we have at the moment. It would be nice to have some sun and warmth though, June and we are still using the heating ridiculous really.
