        What a difference a day makes, the parsnips have nearly all germinated now. I'm quite pleased with this method and will repeat on a bigger scale next year:

          Popped down the allotment this evening to cover my potatoes with fleece, we are in for a few frosty nights and the early spuds have a fair bit of growth.

                    Maybe you'll get some in your compost heaps/bins. I'm always having to abandon digging out mine, especially those with chicken run straw in, because I keep finding grass snake and bumble bee nests.
