Our rhubarb is doing much better than usual but the raspberries are still white.

The pesky cabbage whites are out in force today and somehow finding their way through the netting:

How annoying! Is that the 7mm netting? I still haven't bought any, I really should lol. Or maybe 5mm...

Ho Loofha, I think it must have found a gap at the bottom where I hadn't got the netting touching the soil, I have dug it in now but it's probably shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.

My kale looks like ribbons! Was out yesterday trying to swat the cabbage whites with a BBQ slice. They're very nimble bugs lol

@JWK like your rhubarb and berries and I am sure you will enjoy them:thumbsup:

We had to buy some of that same netting as yours last year as the cheap netting we had got the crafty cabbage white butterflies could just get through the holes and a female blackbird got her foot tangled up in he netting and died. As yet this year we have only seen the odd one or two white butterflies and at the moment all my plants are under Haknix(sp) tunnels until they get a bit bigger, but last year we had no problem at all.:)

It's just to keep the netting up - otherwise the net will slide down and squash the crop or the canes will penetrate and split the net.
