Sorry, I got caught in a chat thread in the photo section too and, besides that, was looking at the wrong photo when I made my comments! It must be the heat!

MF, any luck on discovering what the cascading flowers are yet?

BM, my Rhapsody in Blue can't compete with yours! I've had one flush of flowers so far, dead-headed it and now there's not much but some new growth from the bottom. Mine's about 1 metre tall now and I'm training it against a trellis. Any tips?

? I do nothing to it except spraying in march/april, feeding and then good summer watering. It is a pretty self sufficient variety. And I never prune it below 3 foot. [IMG]

I've done that too LoL, can't blame it on the heat(yet) temps of 28-30c on the way except here on the coast, but I work in temps of 30 upwards in the glasshouse most of the day so I don't mind either way. [IMG]

Just for the record MF, I think strongy is right about your Kalanchoe.
L of L, as for the Brug, its growing in full shade, I'm told by other growers that it wont flower in heat or full sun, even in the UK.
So you would probably struggle in the summer, it would perhaps be good for you in winter.
I grew mine from seed last year, but it has the habit of wanting to flower in late autumn, ideal for you but a real problem for me.

Funny thing, Pete, you see these things growing here on the roadside with no hope of water and in full flower ... that's what we don't understand. Now that we've moved our two into filtered shade they are doing great. I can't even imagine doing them from seed ... well done!

God, no, not the red ones ... I've never seen one in real! No, it's the "white" (they're really crean coloured aren't they?) you see nilly-willy here and there.

Assume you get seeds from the pods? Any going on the red?

If I get any their yours.
A datura that I think would do well for you is metaloidies I think its called inoxia now, it grows along the ground with flowers facing upwards.
Has a nice evening scent and loves heat, comes from SW USA deserts, I have real trouble overwintering it.
The sanguinea is a distinct type, and does seem to require different growing conditions to most.

Ah, yes, had that one a couple of years ago, a purple and white frilly one that t'other half called "the knickers", wonder why? It was a beauty, unfortunately they are the short-lived "real" Daturas, only two years here, very, very pretty though.

[IMG] Ho Hum... Pete & Strongy, I have been through all the Kalanchoes I can find listed but none that look like this one, but I think you are probably right....! My friend who gave it to me originally, is away for the w/end too,
I accidently broke a peice off so have taken a photo. The money plant behind in the comp photo may be confusing the issue. So this is what it looks like. [IMG]
