    I know what that plant is................ it's prickly.

    I might be a beginner but I'm not fick.

    I seem to remember a similar shrub that looked like a holly but with much smaller leaves - members here said it was a Berberis.

    Is this the same??

    No ones got it yet, I think its resonably well known as I bought it a few years ago at my local gardencentre/ nursery.
    The reason I posted it is because when its not in flower I cant tell the difference between this and holly.
    Its flowering better this year, it must be the rain.

    Thanks krissy, roders and Blacktorn. I should have guessed that last night as I've always fancied one but have never seen it for sale and I should have thought "unusual" because it's you, pete! [​IMG]

    Go on with another ... it's not raining here but I'm here painting, popping on and off.

    Just the leaves first, this might be easier.
    But bear in mind its probably not what it looks like, that is, unless you know it. :D
