Would that be nurse Daisees? She's just a few miles up the A19 from me I believe.

EDIT: And if I've got that completely wrong, I'm just going to blame the fever:)

This sounds awful, hope this disappears asap. They sound like terrible symptoms.

It amuses me often when I hear a person with a mild cold proclaiming they have the flu. Ive never had the flu, I seem to be genetically immune from flu - so I'm lucky.. however if they are the symptoms that are the potential in flu.. then that's quite scary.. especially when you're fully alert.

I've had the flu twice it drops you. Can't move, can't do anything except lie in bed burning up & feeling like you are freezing to death.

Just was what was going through my mind as I read that. And the term 'flu' is very overused and devalued because people say "I've had a touch of the flu" when all they really have is a mild cold. Influenza is a very dangerous and volatile infection. Once you've ever had real flu, you'd never misuse the term again. A cold is a cold but flu really sucks! Hope you get better really soon, Clueless, else I shall have to hoy down the A19 and give you what for! smack.gif

It has just occurred to me that that so far this week I've been functioning on mostly synthetic chemicals of one sort or another.

Monday I went into work. A combination of Lemsip (lots of chemicals), too many cans of Red Bull copy (who knows what's in them, other than caffeine and taurine and lots of other additives). Then since then paracetamol and ibruprofen.

There is the temptation when you're feeling mostly ok to relax the paracetamol regime, but then wife and I have noticed that as soon as one dose starts to wear off, my temperature starts soaring again and I start getting confused in less coherent so it seems its definitely the tablets that's keeping me right for now. Its a bit of a pain really because ordinarily I never bother with 'pain killers'. I say pain killers in quotes, because that's what I always thought they were. I never would have given them credit for something as powerful as regulating core temperature. That's pure magic.

Clueless - I think what you need now is soup. And lots of it.

Yeah, well, they have to say that to justify the week they're planning to take off work. it doesn't sound very convincing if you have to throw a week's sickie for a bit of a sniffle.
