Wrong, FC!!!! When I was a kid, around 7years old I managed to get Sunstroke, Yellow Jaundice, and German Measles all in one day, I kid you not.;) To get me on the road to recovery the Doc prescribed two bottles of Jubilee Milk Stout a day for me to drink, it didn't do me any harm although I kept bumping into walls for some reason:heehee:

Milk stout was prescribed for the iron content I believe? In the case of flu, the alcohol would do more harm than good as its a diuretic, and the last thing that you need when you have flu is fluid/hydration being pushed out of the body.

However, I think that you and I should do the gentlemanly thing over the weekend and allow Clueless to use our livers by proxy; I am willing to have a few whiskies for him (purely in the name of being a good Samaritan you understand)?

When I was a kid, maybe 7 or 8, I suffered an ailment that nearly wiped me out. I was reduced to skin and bone.

That christmas, I was opening my presents, and I opened one and thought there was some mistake. A six pack of Mackeson Stout. I confessed immediately to my dad, and he and my mam laughed and said no its for me. In hindsight, they were worried and had been worried for the previous few weeks, but I was too young to grasp that at the time. My dad tried to play it down, saying I was a big lad now and can have some mucky beer seeing as its christmas. My mam was a typical woman, no bluffing capability at all, and told me the doctor had recommended they give it to me as a tonic, but I was only allowed one can at most, twice per day until they were gone.

Not like me then, the doc told me to drink all my medicine so as soon as he left I did.

Now that caused a bit of a flap.

I did something like that once.

I'd had yet another bad cough (I had bronchial asthma as a kid), and I'd been prescribed yet another bottle of cough medicine.

I can't remember how old I was, but I was very young. There was only me and my mam in the house, and as far as I was concerned it was medicine time. My mam was upstairs making the beds. I shouted her, she shouted back she'd be down in a minute. I shouted her again, again she replied she'd be down in a minute. I decided to be a big lad and sort it myself. It was lovely, so I drank loads. I then shouted up, 'its alright now mam, I've taken it myself'. She didn't half move fast after that:)
