Its "Great Expectations" - a pretty rose. Nice colour, the slight frill to the petals is attractive and the new foliage a pleasant mauvy green. Nice scent too. It has the added bonus of being quite disease resistant too. What more could you ask of a rose :)

:) It is a real beauty Fran, scented too..!! A real rose then..!:D I am always disappointed when a rose has no scent as they are such beautiful flowers..!! So far, only my white rose has flowered, but I have lots of buds waiting to pop on my other roses soon. ;) Almost can't wait..!:D

    Jeeem Paladin,what a MESS!!!

I am the more glad that your garden is looking so fine now. Good work! Two years ago a terrific hail storm stripped my garden bare, there was somuch hail that some of my fat plants FROZE in their pots before I got home from worm, I know how shattered one feels! :-( How is your poor house? The PICTURES of the floating floor make me feel like sitting down and cry, I don't want to imagine what it was to have that for REAL.

Enjoy a holiday in France, but move from Evesham to France - are you mad.? I know quite a few people who would give their right arms to live in your locality - even taking into account Provence and the like and even taking into account a repeat of your floods. If you must move, just move to somewhere still in the area thats on a hill like me :D.

Remind me to tell you sometime about a late gardening friend of mine who lived on the Florida Gulf coast - the hurrican coast. A paradise home, complete with exotic garden, where you could sit at the end of the jetty dabbling your toes in the Gulf talking of "ships and shoes and sealing wax" whilst consuming a cool beer.

Ain't nowhere that there aren't problems - France included. You just swap one set for different set.

Was pottering this morning when my neighbour asked me to come and look at the horrible sight he sees everytime he walks out of his back door and be sure to bring a camera for evidence:eek: He had me worried at first:D
