Aye, I was expecting to grow some monster veg this year, but was dismayed when I found this forum and realised most people got bigger stuff from grow bags :)

      Hilarious!

Mind you, you could threaten Mrs JWK if she complains about the cascading compost bin project!

I'm lovin that wall can't wait to see it rendered.

My dad threatened to change the locks but realised we couldn't get into feed the cat when he was away and then he locked himself out so I still have a key lol

      Great job, John :thumb:

I've got some projects here for you to do and, as I'm not stingy like some of the others, I'll pay you double time :thumb: :). 50p an hour is a bit steep but you look as though you are worth it :D. Cash in hand, of course, but don't let anyone know ;) ;).

Thanks Shiney, you do realise that I'm stuck in a 1960s time warp, so yes I'm quite happy to work for 50p provided its cash in hand :thumb: but I don't trust them paper 10 bob note things, payment in gold half sovereigns only!

No probs :thumb: :). Smaller fractions of the hour will also get paid in groats and farthings. Phew!! I just checked my spelling and luckily hadn't dropped my H :). Posh, ain't I? :D

groats and farthings - tee hee! I have a distant memory of using farthings as a kid but not groats! It might be worth doing this job just for the novelty value, I think my rate is 40 groats or 480 farthings an hour which sounds quite good, I was going to work out how many minutes and seconds to earn 1 groat and 1 farthing but I couldn't do it - thank goodness we decimalised!

      Hey John!!!
Are you trying to con me? I don't mind paying 480 farthings an hour but 40 groat is a bit much . That's nearly 67p!!!

If you want I'll pay you one Piece of Eight an hour or three Dubloons for a six day week. You can have a very generous one day off each week ;) :D

shiney: :o Did you have to work that out or did it jump out at you. Be careful how you answer as it might date you! :D ;)

Yes, it should be 30 groats a hour (not 40), flipping heck you've got to admire all those oldies working with florins, crowns, tanners etc I suppose it was second nature then ;)
