These 2 photographs are easily the equal of any I have seen in the best professional bird books.

    Jolly well done Kandy!

(PS I speak as I see, this is NOT false flattery!)

Thanks Cookie.I am still learnig with this new camera I had for my birthday last year but I still enjoy using my old Kadak EasyShare.Considering the Canada Goose was moving I think I did well to get him. [IMG]

Actually looking at the Mallard even the feather markings have turned out pretty good.A couple walking past even stopped while I took those photos and he even has a tiny dot of light in his eye

I feel all [IMG] now [IMG]

Which type of camera do you have , if you don't mind me being nosey!!!

I have a Fuji Finepix S7000 which I love. But I still hanker after more zoom, so I'm looking out for a tele lens for it at the mo!

Your camera produces WONDERFUL detail at close range and it deals with light really well.

I'm no camera boffin, but I do know what I like! and your pics today meet that criteria and then some!

Hi Cookie,I thought you had logged off ;)

My camera is a Fuji Finepix S5700 7.1 MP.Mr Kandy says it is 10x Optical Zoom but can go up to 30x something that I didn't know about but he says if you go that high then the quality of the photos goes down.I don't know whether yours is a newer model than mine.Mr Kandy says I can't put any other lenses on to the front of it.

I had this camera last August 2007 if that is any help [IMG]

I think yours is more recent and looking at its spec it is one of those rare occasions that what a product promises, it delivers. Very good choice Kandy.

Colour, clarity of image and light are all tremendously good quality for this category of camera.

Cookie/Kandy - just done a quick web search, it seems you both can add teleconverters to your camera's. A few site seem to recommend the olympus Tcon-17. I think you may need an adapter tube-ring to fit your camera's first. I'll do a bit more searching if you like??

    Thanks Glen!

Certainly my S7000 can take add on lenses.

Olympus are the best, but we have just been pipped to the post on ebay for a Raynox 1.85 tele lens, which is compatible with the fuji.

Mr cookie has already got an adapter for a wideangle lens (52 mm I think, but don't quote me!).

Raynox seem to get ok reviews but are much cheaper than Olympus - but I guess you always get what you pay for with any optical equipment.

I have a Raynox wide angle and a fisheye for my canon S3, I have no problems with them. I use a sony 1.7 teleconverter. I'm sure you'll do your homework before buying, just be aware not to go for the biggest magnification around, its usually false economy. I tried a x5 teleconverter on mine and the results were awful!

Ok Kandy, wish him well. For info, this link seems to give a bit advice about your camera and add on teleconverters.

    http://www.birdforum.net/archive/index.php/t-96833.html

your camera seems to have a 46mm front thread so will be able to take filters etc. You can also buy stepping rings should you need to put a smaller or larger threaded filter/lens on it.
