    A pretty freckled digitalis -

A Euphorbia lathyris - I just love these even though they are just all green -

This tiny fellow (about the size of a finger nail) was hopping around on the lower patio and couldn't get back up the step to get back to the pond. After I took his photo I helped him on his way.

The best for last - our hydranger which went beserk this year and has exactly 100 flower heads! I counted twice to make sure.

Hi, Sis, just catching up with this ... don't know where I've been lately!

Everything is looking so beautifully overgrown now and we are working on achieving that. You have more unusual plants than I realised.

You've surpassed me in the photography arena, but I think you have a better camera than I do. [IMG]

    Thanks walnut and Sis.

Walnut, thanks for the names of the first two, the third I knew, I should have written it, it is Pflox.

Sis, perhaps my camera is better but now I fancy one like in that commercial with the lion. Just think of the pics I'd get with it! Look in What's buzzing near you today ..., I got some more good close-ups. They look even better when on my PC full screen.

Re unusual plants, only have things that can survive the winter. We've had the Eucomis for 12-15 years and the Phygelius for about 3 (I was told it was a garden fuchsia!). The fantastic hydranger with the 100 flower heads is actually a house one that has lived outside for about 5-6 years. This is the one I dosed with blue and black ink the first year to make it go really dark.

Kedi the phygelius is sometimes known as the Cape Fuchsia although it's not related, more related to figs
