Thank you Sis. I think the water lilies have been my favourite subject.

The olive pot will be nice, will you put the burbling barrel out again too? I love to hear water but even after years of asking, I still haven't got Hubby to make me a little waterfall or bubbling fountain. I haven't given up hope yet though.

Oh sorry Rosa and Liz! I missed the third page when answering Sis, I didn't mean to ignore you and not thank you for your kind comments. Thank you both!

    Great pond, Kedi [IMG] [IMG]

I love ponds but we had to get rid of ours (30 years ago) because of the giant willow tree that was near it. The leaves drop all the year round and they poison the water. We gave our fish to a friend but the newts kept coming back for years  .

The cotton grass looked lovely and the water lillies are fabulous. You must get great satisfaction from sitting and contemplating your pond.

    Thank you Shiney.

Pity you had to get rid of your pond, was it not possible to put it elsewhere? We have newts too but so far I've never been able to get a proper picture of one of them, in spite of having so many this year.

My in-laws used to have a giant willow tree next to the upstairs bedrooms but had it chopped down after the mosquitoes that seemed to love it stung our son when he was a couple of years old. His whole face and neck were swollen up something awful and he had cauliflower ears, poor kid.

Although our garden is large we would have had to do away with something else to put the pond elsewhere. We also had more than one willow and dozens of deciduous trees whose leaves would affect the water.

we'll just have to admire other people's gardens - like yours. [IMG]

Due to the rain and coolish weather the water lilies have let up -

This is a little "bay" in our pond, full of alge, and duck weed at the moment -

    Thank you Kandy!

A pond is a world to itself, so many different things to see - plants, insects, amphibians, birds that come to drink and bathe .....
