A bit lighter than The Fisherman, Robert, but yes, very alike. If I'd seen him, then he would have had a place in my thread along with all the others lovelies. But he has now, thanks to you k-l

No, Sis, unfortunately I couldn't take any of them home, I would have needed more than a suitcase, I'd have needed one of these old-fashioned wardrobe cases for them all to fit in. As to just taking The Lion, I'm sure lions are not permitted on planes :hehe:, he'd have frightened most of the other passangers to death.

    These are The Church Cats.

They weren't actually in the church, but then, neither were we as it was always locked up when we went to have a look.

First of all, we heard and then saw this one. It was crying pitifully like a weak baby. We managed to entice it closer -

    - and fed it the rest of my scrambled egg sandwich left over from breakfast -

After that, we called to it every time we walked by, but unfortunately, never saw it again.

A week or two later, we saw the tortoiseshell cat and gave it some frankfurters, also from the breakfast buffet. It had hardly started to eat, when this fine-looking grey & white cat appeared.

We thought it might chase the first one away, but, no, it didn't appear to be hungry -

    - just watched the tortoiseshell while it ate. It was almost as though it was acting a a guard!

These next cats are The McDonald Gang. They are the resident ones, although sometimes one or two other cats would stop by.

Most of them seemed to suffer from bites on the nose, flea bites I thought. They didn't seem to scratch more than usual so perhaps it was something else.

This is the Boss Cat, everyone had to stand back and let him have first choice -

This one, although the biggest of the lot, was the weakling and let himself be bullied. We felt quite sorry for him, poor thing -

    - and he had such a sweet look about him -

I thought of these two as The Twins or Light and Dark, a beautiful pair -

This is the Baby and a cute little fella he was -

I took this pic the last time we were there. He was curled up asleep under one of the outside tables - so guess which table I sat down at?

Oh I also love cats and have one from the cats protection league and an old one . When I go to Greece, I want to bring them all home with me but they are probabbly very well fed from all of the tourists and fresh fish around the harbours.

    Thanks Penny and Mary.

I want to bring them all home too, but agree with you, Mary, about them being well fed where they live now. Well, in many places, but not all.

Keep an eye on this spot, please, as I have some more cats from Cyprus to introduce to you. k-l

Today I would like to introduce The Geroskipou Gang. Geroskipou is along the coast a wee bit and I guess it is actually a suburb of Pafos.

We bused there one day and then walked back along the promonade and so met up with this lovely group of furry friends.

Like many cats here, this beautiful one looks like a Van Cat from Turkey. There has obviously been a lot of interbreeding since there are so many of them.

Here we have a line-up and there was no fighting for tid-bits -

The sturdy-looking one standing a bit back was the Pasha of this group. He didn't actually act like a Pasha as he let the others eat but usually stood a bit off to one side and kept his eye open for any possible dangers -

"Ah, that tasted very good" -

I've included this friendly one in the above group although he lived a little way further along and didn't actually seem to be one of the Geroskipou Gang -

He knew when he was on to a good thing, as he got up to watch Mr K open the bag of Brekkies -

Thanks Penny. We loved them all, but, of course, we had our special favourites too. k-l
