Pete, you usually go on two game drives a day 6.30-8.30am and 4.30- 630pm as the wildlife is normally more active then. there may be 10 or more minbuses going out together but usually go in different directions occassionally passing each other but radio contact is kept between drivers so that if Lions Cheetah or Leopard are sighted then they might all decend on one area at once. Then it can be a bit of a free for all as each driver wants his group to see the animals they came to see and then you may surrounded by 15/20 minibuses some coming from other Lodges. That's where the commercial side of it shows but we were aware of that before we went.

Unless you are on a tent Safari you don't slum it. there are all mod cons.

Dave, quick thinking, Ours meal times were a little more sophisticated.

Stunning photos I am so envious. I would love to visit somewhere like that, no chance with my health problems though. Thank you for sharing you lovely photos.

Many of the 'roads' in the parks are only rough pot holed, rutted tracks and can be a bone dissolving ride so anyone with health problems particularly replacemants parts would not manage a trip like this. It must be really bad in the rainy season.

I saw bush pilots yesterday and the runways looked the same as the roads you described. The passengers in the planes looked rather scared. The trouble with me is even if I could stand the pain on the roads I also have crohns.I would not be able to eat for fear of a reaction which can be severe.I cannot walk far and often need crutches so I can only dream of a safari type holiday. Looks like you had a great time from your photos.

Do it if you can Mowgley but don't leave it too long or you may not cope with the rough drives.
