Hi Kristen, a dehumidifier would be useless in my House as the Kitchen door is, while I'm at home, permanently ajar because of the two moggies going in and out of the garden. I've decided not to fit a Cat Flap as it would spoil a good door!!! In spite of that I still manage to maintain a temperature of around 68f in the house even with the door ajar. The Cannas, etc don't seem to mind a cool environment during the "ticking over" period. I did lose 4 Cannas after the Winter in the Cool Room but that was my fault by slightly over watering and they succumbed to rot.

Hi Harry, You're right about the pots seeming to get heavier every year, but that might be down to us getting a bit :old::heehee:
I've deliberately brought most of the heaviest pots into the Kitchen, although there are still a lot of large pots left. It doesn't help that they are all Clay Pots so seem to weigh a ton in the first place!! I reckon I can get about 35 or so more pots into the Cool Room and the rest will just about squeeze into the Kitchen.:coffee:
