Aha ! I have found an 'Alpha Identifier' on a statement. It is R. I wonder if this is the same as a Rota Load Block Identifier.

Thanks for the info. We appear to be a B. That looks as though it is Mondays 6-9 a.m. and 6-9 p.m. and Wednesdays 3-6 a.m. Hope that is correct.

      1. You can check at Find Your Electric Supplier | Report Power Cuts Free on 105 and input your postcode into the search form.If your postcode is recorded in the database then this will display the distributors network you are connected to, as well as the single letter ‘Load Block Identifier’

@Fat Controller "As you will no doubt have heard over and over again"

Well actually No, and neither do a good few other folk who we have talked to ?!

Usually watch the TV national news twice a day and cannot say we have heard any mention of it apart from the odd comment some time ago, which in context then was more general EU speculation than fact.

Yes we easily found our code K and seems the level 1 cut off times are quiet easy for us to live with, but thankful that we have an automatic backup power supply for our fish tank, how about yours ?

Just at a time when they want us all to move over to electric cars they come out with this, its crazy.
Must admit I'd not heard any of this until now.
We are going backwards not forwards.

Thank you @Fat Controller, but I don't understand it.
What is meant by Level 1 2 and 3
what do the numbers e.g. Thursday 4 & 6 mean ... it can't be the dates, today is the 8th

Level 1, 2, 3 are increasing levels of severity - these rise up to 18. To be honest, anything above Level 3 starts to get quite uncomfortable with more and more outages.

The Thursday 4 & 6 mean relate to the number of the time slot on a Thursday that you can expect power to be off, so slot 4 is 0930-1230 and slot 6 is 1530-1830. Bear in mind that reconnection can take up to another hour after each outage, so it is possible that it could be 0930-1330 for example - this last hour is a variable and indeed may not happen at all.

Thank you @Fat Controller it's clearer now.
I hope it never happens, cold temperatures make me feel ill.
I'm glad my late partner Beryl is dead, she suffered with hypothermia and got admitted to hospital with it on one occasion. It worries me about people who don't cope or whose condition is made worse by cold temperatures, like me and Beryl. The NHS can't cope as it is, but these outages will surely make it worse.

It has been on the news and the radio as well, as well as discussion programs also. I suppose it is one of those things where if you weren't watching at the right time, you may not know. I was aware that some folks I know couldn't make head nor tail of it, hence I thought this may be useful, even if it saves someone from wasting a dinner or not getting up for work/medical appointment, then it has been worthwhile.
