I've still got my old one and it comes in handy during the many power cuts we have. :blue thumb:

Sunak and Biden have just agreed a deal for the U.S. to supply us with more LNG. It is supposed to start in the new year. :fingers crossed:

It is also part of Biden's scheme to lower world prices to hit Putin harder and to, obviously, sell more themselves.

We use Kerosene to heat the water beds for propagating, also red diesel to blow warm air.
October 2021 was the last time I purchased kerosene, 2000L, at the same time I purchased red diesel and derv. Costs per litre below, all ex VAT

      Kerosene: was 47p
      Red derv: was 64p
      Derv: was £1.10

Red derv has gone up the most % wise as there is no rebate on the duty anymore.
Derv this week is £1.38 ex vat using the fuel card.

I wish I could buy Kerosene at that price - but then, I'd have no real use for 2000 litres of the stuff :heehee:

What is the difference between paraffin and kerosene.
I thought jet fuel was Kerosene.

They refer to the timeband/slot of the disconnection, and these may/can repeat each week. It may actually make it easier if I show it this way

It sort of is, but my understanding is that there are varying levels of refinement - - paraffin as we knew it (you are singing "Esso Blue" in your head right now, aren't you?) in paraffin heaters years ago was less refined than lamp oil; lamp oil also burned with a whiter flame - aircraft kerosine is even more refined than lamp oil (by vast margins), so there is no risk of B&A going out and filling up with Bartoline's finest....

I think paraffin is more refined and is recommended when using in enclosed spaces.

My oil boiler burns kerosine. No good if the power is cut though as it needs electricity for the rest of it's workings.
